The decision to end a marriage is never an easy one. That said, many Florida spouses are facing just such a decision and may be unsure how to proceed. While every marriage will experience a range of up and down times, there are certain circumstances that can lead to doubts about the future of a marriage. When the following conditions are present within a marriage, it may be time to give divorce some serious consideration.
When an individual is convinced that he or she would be better off as a single person, there is certainly trouble in paradise. It is one thing to remember one’s salad days fondly, but another thing to actively consider heading back to a time when an individual was alone. Once the marriage stops being a sanctuary from the rest of the world and a comfort in times of trouble, it may be time to take a proactive stance toward divorce.
Another circumstance that should give spouses pause is when couples’ counseling has been attempted but there has been no positive change within the relationship. Working with a therapist should prompt a number of changes within a marriage, both large and small. When that process proves unproductive, many spouses feel as if they have given the union every chance for success, but to no good end.
When a marriage hits a rough patch, it can be difficult to know when to throw in the towel and seek a different path. However, when Florida spouses have given their marriage their best effort, but still feel as if being single again is not a loss, it may be time to move on. Divorce is not always a negative experience, and many spouses view the end of their marriage as nothing more than a doorway to a different future, one that holds the promise of happier days ahead.
