Unfortunately for many couples, a Florida divorce may not always go as planned. Many people likely assume that a divorce will turn out to be fair and the couple will split and go their separate ways. Sadly for many, it does not always turn out this way and one spouse may walk away with the majority if not all of the assets. When considering a divorce, it is always important to keep in mind that a divorce can affect one for the rest of one's life, and going about it in a prepared manner may be beneficial.
A recent celebrity divorce has taken place between former Pittsburgh Steelers football player Kordell Stewart and his wife, Porsha Williams. The pair met in 2009 and were married two years later. They divorced this past March with allegations from friends that claim Stewart was fairly controlling of Williams during their marriage.
Although Stewart was made successful by his football career, his wife was left with nothing after the divorce proceedings were completed. The final agreement was that Williams would receive no alimony or assets. In addition, she would receive none of his retirement funds or the property her ex-husband owned. It is possible that she may be facing financial hardships as a result of this divorce settlement.
Marriage is supposed to consist of both people in the relationship contributing equally to make sure the marriage is successful. Many Florida residents looking for a divorce may hope the same thing -- equality. In an attempt to ensure fairness for all, it may be beneficial to research all aspects of the divorce to possibly have the best outcome.
